Mission

“Sustainable health in a sustainable world”

Ambitions

To address environmental and social causes and consequences of diabetes and related chronic conditions by:

  • Raising awareness of the link between the socio determinants of health, and economic and environmental sustainability
  • Shifting the current focus of chronic disease policy and activities toward a more appropriate balance between broad-based primary prevention and ‘sick’ care
  • Mitigating the social and environmental forces that are currently causing our societies to produce mass obesity, mass physical inactivity and mass social disconnectedness, resulting in chronic disease, mental stress and ill health
