Medical Journal of Australia Series
To provoke thought and stimulate debate around growing concerns about the impact of environmental determinants on chronic disease in the lead up to the OxHA 2008 Sydney Summit, Ruth Colagiuri co-ordinated the development and co-authored several articles in a series published in the MJA.
Monographs from the OxHA Asia-Pacific Centre explore contemporary issues and possible solutions for chronic disease and sustainability.
July 2008 - Oxford Health Alliance Seminar Series 2006. A monograph was produced to document the seminar series. Its publication coincided with the launch of the University of Sydney’s Institute for Sustainable Solutions.
March 2006 - It’s Happening: the Strike Back on Chronic Diseases authored by Ruth Colagiuri, Bo Wesley and Stig Pramming. The purpose of this document was to provoke debate about those aspects of the way the world is now that promotes chronic disease and how we might change them. It also explored the resurgence of community and civil society – that groundswell of influence being brought to bear on government, industry and big business to protect and promote health – and the signs that this is having an impact.
