Hali joined The Diabetes Unit in August 2009 in a volunteer capacity.
Hali completed her undergraduate medical studies in Melbourne at Monash University. Early in her career, Hali was particularly interested in public health, adhering to the belief that prevention is often better than cure. Subsequently, Hali began working with The Bowel Cancer Prevention Program, designing and implementing an evaluation of the program. It was at this time that Hali embarked on a Masters of Public Health, which she completed in 2006. Her minor research project for the Masters was a literature review examining the impact of obesity on food insecurity in Australia.
Hali has spent the last six years focusing on raising her four children. By volunteering at The Diabetes Unit, Hali is hoping to gain some valuable work experience and learn more about the practicalities of public health and prevention.
