Madeleine E. K. Savit, Volunteer, The Diabetes Unit

Madeleine joined The Diabetes Unit to work on joint projects assessing urban initiatives toward best practice in preventive health. Her professional careers include information management and research at Yale and Harvard Universities’ medical schools where she worked with others in many medical sub-specialities. While at Harvard University, Madeleine studied public health. Madeleine’s education in architecture included ‘green design,’ urban planning, and landscape design. Her work in architecture ranged from large commercial to small residential projects.
Madeleine’s interest in education was deepened during nine years of home schooling her two sons toward early entry at the University of New South Wales and subsequent admission to Princeton and Brown Universities in the U.S.
